ChoicePoint alleges misuse of its data, alerts affected consumers

ChoicePoint has recently fingered employees of four of its significant customers for likely misusing the company's massive databases. The most significant incident relates to an employee of the Miami Dade police department, who gained access to records of over four thousand individuals. ChoicePoint is holding up its auditing tools for successfully determining the misuse of data by employees of legitimate users and has begun to notify the affected consumers.
