Article: Enterprises prep for PIPEDA panic

This article from has some interesting things to say. I tend to agree with with its theme; the greatest risk that most businesses face from PIPEDA is the significant potential for damaging -- if not ruining an organization's reputation and trust with stakeholders. The Commissioner may not decide to publicly castigate a particular business, but we've certainly seen a willingness of the aggrieved to contact the press on their own. With increased awareness of privacy issues, the media are starting to listen to disgruntled customers.
