Incident: 11 charged with ID theft from doctors' offices

Regular readers of this blog will know that employees are one of the most common causes of personal information "leaks". In some cases, the leak is accidental but all too often personal information is taken by an insider for malevolent purposes. The Chicago Sun-Times is reporting the arrest and charge of eleven people who were allegedly involved in lifting sensitive personal information from medical files to commit fraud. The worst part of the story is that it was an inside job, involving an administrative employee of a physicians' group and a receptionist from another.
