Illinois library to require fingerprint to use computers

In my experience, librarians are among the most strident proponents of patron privacy. So it comes as a surprise to hear that a library in Chicago has paid a biometrics company forty thousand dollars to install fingerprint scanners for each of their public use internet terminals.
