Research study at Indiana University suspended following privacy breach

A research study about smoking at Indiana University has been suspended by the university's Institutional Review Board (the US equivalent of a Research Ethics Board) after information related to study participants was released to someone trying to track down former students in connection with organizing a class reunion. The research project, funded by the National Institutes of Health was one of the largest longitudinal studies into smoking and attitudes towards smoking in the US.
