Commissioner says posting info on website vioated PIPEDA

A second finding from the Privacy Commissioner's Office was released today. This one found that a dog breeder violated PIPEDA by posting personal information about a former customer on the site as part of a dispute between the parties. Because the website was for the purpose of promoting a business, it was deemed to be a collection, use or disclosure of personal information in the course of commercial activities.
